Otalith Music Festival 2015

Set within the towering rainforest, in one of the most stunning locations on Vancouver Island, Otalith will descend upon Tofino and Ucluelet again this summer, bringing with it an eclectic mix of top-notch local, and up-and-coming international musical acts. With it’s laid back, family-friendly vibe, festival goers and music lovers from far and wide will spend two days enjoying the intimate event, surrounded by worldclass beaches and wildlife.

Otalith is a presentation of the Pacific Rim Music Festival Society, a non-profit society dedicated to the promotion of coastal conservation and awareness through arts and entertainment. Proceeds from the event go to both local and provincial initiatives focused on the preservation of our natural environment.

Located only steps from the festival grounds, Otalith has exclusive use of the Ucluelet campground this year. Camping can be booked through the official festival website, and is selling out fast due to a limited amount of space.

Campers can look forward to warm showers, flush-toilets and fire pits as well as an awesome west coast atmosphere. Otalith once again strives to be a zero-waste festival, which means that recycling and composting are mandatory and will be facilitated with easily-recognisable bins. Organizers take a lot of pride in the natural environment that surrounds the festival, and want to tread as lightly as possible on it.

“Music festivals tend to be pretty wasteful,” says Warren Recker, Marketing Director, “and we’re trying to change that by doing things differently.” Last year, Otalith worked with Synergy Enterprises out of Victoria and along with some very dedicated volunteers, were able to produce only one bag of garbage over the course of the entire weekend. Everything else was composted or recycled.

Celebrating its third year, Otalith Music Festival is excited to announce its 2015 lineup:

Black Lips, The Dodos, The Coup, Nick Waterhouse, The Cave Singers,
Reverberation Radio (DJ Set), Jon and Roy, Jesse Roper, Author, Moev, Rugged
